World Journalism Education Council

The World Journalism Education Council is a coalition representing 29 academic associations worldwide that are involved in journalism and mass communication at the university level. By bringing organizations from six continents together, the Council hopes to provide a common space for journalism educators from around the world and to focus on issues that are universal in the field.

Issues During the first World Journalism Education Congress, 25 participants representing member organizations of the World Journalism Education Council explained the key issues facing journalism educators around the world.
Census The World Journalism Education Census identifies journalism education programs around the world and collects information about how those programs teach journalism and mass communication. Information on more than 2,300 programs has been collected so far.
Congress The second World Journalism Education Congress will convene July 5 to July 7, 2010, in Grahamstown, South Africa. The School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University will host the Congress.
